When the Reading School Board tried to establish a reproductive health and social services program at the high school last year, it failed.

After a loud public outcry, the board had voted 5-4 to deny the proposed center.

Now a year later, the board approved the center with an 8-1 vote on Wednesday.

The difference between the two years? Planned Parenthood.
